Systems are the core concept within the E1 platform where all other utility functions support and revolve around. A system encapsulates a problem set in its entirety - whether the problem relies on data tracking, environment guardrails, resource deployment, or any other function in IT.

An E1 System typically includes the following:

- Dashboard with Customizable Widgets

- Data Table with Search

- Commands for updating & actioning the data set

- Detectors & Triggers (auto-response)

- Targeting (environment scoping)

The System Command written in Python collects EC2 instance metadata across an entire AWS Organization to populate the data table. You can write your own Python code to bring in your own System dataset, or install available Systems from AstroHub with a few clicks!

Detectors organize your dataset into filterable sub-sets using familiar Python syntax for enhanced visibility and triggering downstream actions.

Triggers invoke Commands based off of a configured Detector.

These features provide the core functionality of the automation platform, but there are more in the E1 secret sauce that makes the automation building experience much more incredible than doing it the normal way.
