How's it done?

Customers of E1 can install the Rubrik RSC Events system for free from AstroHub.

Readers not currently using Echelon One can still build their own automation using the following:

• API access to Rubrik RSC
• API access to your desired Ticketing Platform

Which events are most relevant to you? If you're unsure, Critical severity is a good place to start !

Rapidly respond to specific events you care about coming from Rubrik RSC. Whether its retrying a backup job, notifying support, or some other API-enabled reaction; E1 has you covered. Events coming out of RSC can be overly verbose or redundant (in that they constantly repeat at regular intervals). E1 allows you to handle this data exactly how you want. Our customer wanted to consolidate the thousands of event messages every 12 hours into a unique Zendesk ticket for each affected cluster.

So that's what we delivered.

Case Study

Our customer, a managed services provider, had an operations team dedicated to crawling the event log for new high severity events. Within a week, E1 was providing a custom dashboard of personalized Cluster metrics and a data table showing all events and their ticket status.

The operations team could now be freed from manual click ops, and move on to more valuable work and innovation.

Saving this team over half the work week from their normal click ops also means improved SLAs, higher morale, and a sustainable work practice.

Using the E1 Platform, they can apply base Python skills to further hone and construct their intellectual property. This means the customer is protected from being vendor locked, as you can always extract your code and run it elsewhere. It also prevents your team from having to invest time and money into learning niche subjects that only apply to a specific proprietary tooling.
